We have set up a CAMHS pre-assessment clinic is as a pre-referral service to advise GPs if a CAMHS referral would be helpful to the families. These include: suspected ADHD, suspected autism, behavioural issues, or anything the GP may be unsure what’s the best pathway for a particular case.
From the appointment the Clinician will either signpost you on to more appropriate services, offer to send self-help resources or take the referral and the info gained at the appointment straight back to CAMHS Access and Assessment for an in-depth telephone triage assessment in which case there is no need for your GP to complete further referral form.
